Newsflash – USCIS Issues Duplicate Biometrics Notices in Error

On Wednesday, August 27, 2014, USCIS acknowledged that duplicate ASC biometrics appointment notices have been issued erroneously during its transition to a new system for generating the notices.  USCIS has stated that, should a duplicate notice be issued to an applicant who has already attended an ASC appointment and had their biometrics captured, it should not be necessary to attend the second appointment.  We advise that anyone who receives such a duplicate notice should respond in writing stating that biometrics were already taken and requesting that USCIS schedule a new appointment only if required.  A copy of the stamped original notice should also be included in the correspondence.  Clients may find the address to which to send these documents at the bottom of the duplicate notice.
