Newsflash – USCIS Resumes Premium Processing for H-1B Extension Petitions

According to an alert issued on early Monday, July 13, 2015, USCIS has now resumed premium processing service for all Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, H-1B extension of stay petitions.  This development comes two weeks earlier than expected, following a May 19, 2015 announcement that premium processing service would be suspended for H-1B extension petitions from May 26, 2015 to July 27, 2015.  The temporary suspension was implemented to allow for the timely adjudication of employment authorization applications filed by H-4 nonimmigrants under the new regulations; see the related alert here.

All premium processing requests for H-1B extension petitions received by USCIS before July 13, 2015 will be rejected.
