Newsflash – USCIS to Resume H-1B Premium Processing for Physicians

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that beginning Monday, June 26th, premium processing service will resume for all H-1B petitions filed on behalf of medical doctors who qualified for J-1 waivers under the Conrad 30 Waiver program, as well as interested government agency waivers. The Conrad 30 program and certain interested government agency waivers allow physicians to remain in the United States on a temporary visa after completing their medical training in order to work in medically underserved areas with shortage of qualified doctors.

USCIS plans to resume premium processing of other H-1B petitions as their workloads permit. Further announcements with specific details related to when USCIS will begin accepting premium processing for those petitions will be later addressed. For more specific questions regarding your personal situation, please contact the SIL attorney with whom you are working.
